Windshield/Windscreen Rock Chip Repair

It is our strong opinion that you should never replace your windshield unless absolutely necessary. A large tree branch or a brick falling off the top of a wall and onto the windshield is probably going to do damage that requires a complete replacement. This procedure has now become much more expensive than it used to be. Most newer vehicles are equipped with Advance Driver Assisted Systems (ADAS) utilizing one or more cameras mounted up against the windshield. These cameras are utilized with such features as lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and emergency braking with new features still in development.

However, most rock chip damage is repairable allowing you to avoid the hassle just described. Leave it to us to repair this damage, restoring the structural integrity, securing the damage from spreading across.

We believe it is always better to try and save your windshield rather than replace it, but we also know that sometimes that is not possible. Let's face it. If something has crashed through your windshield, that's definitely not something that can be repaired and your only option to get back on the road safely is to replace. However, if you're driving down the road and a rock or pebble strikes your windshield, the rock chip damage it caused will most likely be repairable.

We will give you an honest assessment of your damage and let you know what the best option will be. Since we have no control over the quality of work another shop provides, we will not make any recommendations on where you should go to have your windshield replaced, if we deem your damage to be not repairable. In most instances, a long crack only occurs if you don't take immediate action to have your rock chip damage repaired and it quickly spreads.

QUALITY MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT

We use the strongest resins available to repair your rock chip.

Resin is the most important part of repairing a windshield. Using cheap, low quality resin can directly affect the look and safety of the repair which can lead to the repair failing. We use the best resins available which, not only makes the majority of our rock chip repairs look amazing, it allows us to back our rock chip repairs for life (for as long as you own the vehicle) with a 100% money back guarantee. Combine this with top quality tools from the leading manufacturers to perform the repairs and you will definitely be glad you chose us to repair your windshield.

Windshield Long Crack Repair

Did you procrastinate or ignore your rock chip damage? Has the rock chip damage recently grown (within a week) to be a long crack? We also offer windshield crack repairs up to 14" in length.

A quality repair is a safe alternative and can be done at a fraction of the cost of a replacement

Do you think you need to replace your windshield? Maybe not! We specialize in windshield crack repairs up to 14" in length. A quality repair is a safe alternative and usually can be done at a fraction of the cost of a replacement in many cases.

Professional Headlight Restoration

Driving at night with oxidized headlights is extremely dangerous. Most people don't realize how much light is being restricted. This can lead to accidents that could have easily been prevented. Having your headlights restored is a very affordable, instant safety, and visual upgrade for any vehicle.

Headlights that have oxidized damage restrict huge amounts of light. This condition is actually dangerous as the driver cannot see everything in their path and is less noticeable to other drivers on the road.

Having your headlights restored is very affordable and is an instant safety and visual upgrade for any vehicle with yellow, dingy headlights. Headlight restoration can also be a great upgrade for those wanting to resell their vehicle or if you're the buyer of a used vehicle with oxidized headlights.

FAQs

After my damage has been repaired, my windshield is going to look brand new again?

The primary goal in windshield rock chip repair is to stop the rock chip from ever becoming a long crack. Taking this into consideration, the cosmetic results of each repair will vary depending on the type of chip being repaired, the length of time the rock chip has been there before repairing and any debris that may remain after repair, and many other factors. There will almost always be some evidence left from the original damage, but the repair technician will always put forth the effort to make the repair look as best as it can. Our warranty coverage does not include cosmetic dissatisfaction.

We definitely recommend you visit our photo galleries page to see the BeforeAfter photos we have of various sizes and severity of damage and what it looks like after the repair is completed. Be sure to zoom in on those photos to see how damage can look after it's repaired. In other words, this kind of service isn't for everyone because it will not look like brand new. But it is a safe, affordable solution to replacing your windshield when the damage eventually spread (and it eventually will).

How long does an auto glass repair typically take?

The duration of an auto glass repair depends on the extent of the damage. Minor chips can often be repaired in as little as 30 minutes, while larger cracks might take a few hours. Our technicians work efficiently to minimize downtime and get you back on the road as soon as possible.

Why won't you work on my damage if I've already had someone else try to fix it or if I tried to fix it myself with a do-it-yourself kit?

There are two main reasons we won't take the job in this scenario. One is because we warranty OUR work and we can no longer do that if others have worked on the damage. Two, once someone else has contaminated the damage with their resin (or whatever substance they erroneously were instructed to try to use), we can no longer successfully inject our resin because it's now blocked. You only have one true opportunity to perform a successful repair. We definitely recommend that you leave the repair attempt to us.

Is there anything I can do to keep my rock chip damage from getting worse?

Unfortunately, rock chips can turn into cracks at any time so you definitely shouldn't procrastinate in booking an appointment with us. Aside from you successfully using a DIY kit bought at your local auto parts store (we can't stress enough why this is a bad choice and address our concerns in the previous FAQ above), everything we list below are things you can do to minimize the chance of spreading before our appointment.

First, do not use your defroster as heating the glass makes your windshield much more susceptible causing your rock chip to spread.

Second, try to park on a level surface. Parking at an angle will put stress on the windshield and possibly do more damage. Speaking of stress, when driving the vehicle with rock chip damage, you should try to avoid potholes or rough roads as the stressful jolt you may experience while running over a pothole can cause the damage to spread right then and there.

If the weather happens to be warmer (85 degrees+), you should consider leaving one of your side door windows slightly opened while parked to allow hot air to escape from the cabin. Not doing so can mean the air inside will get hotter and hotter. Hot air expands which may cause pressure to build on the windshield that could make your damage spread. In fact, in warmer conditions, try to park in the shade.

Lastly, avoid washing your windshield or using any Rain-X or similar product. This will leave residue in the chip and make it more visible after the repair.

ALL OF THESE CONCERNS ARE ALLEVIATED ONCE WE HAVE REPAIRED YOUR DAMAGE!

Do I have to go to a shop, or can a repair tech come to me?

We are 100% mobile service covering two areas in Los Angeles County. If you are within a 15 mile radius of Santa Monica, CA or Covina, CA, we can come to your home, work or any safe location, mutually agreed upon, to do the repair.

Will the repair be as strong as the rest of the windshield?

Yes! Once the repair is completed and cured, that section will be just as strong as before the damage occurred.

Is there a warranty? What if I get another rock chip in the future?

Yes! We use the best equipment and products available and stand by our work. All of our repairs come with a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the vehicle. If or when you get another rock chip or crack, there is no reason to go anywhere else. Once you are a customer you are part of the family.
